The Goa Pubic Service Commission (GPSC) was established on 30/05/1988.  It is a body created by the Constitution of India. The Commission advises the Government on all matters relating to State Civil Services referred to it under Article 320 (3) of the Constitution. The requisitions from the Government are received in the form of proposals indicating number of vacancies in a particular post in a department or cadre and the mode of filling up the vacancies. The mode of filling up the posts is either by direct recruitment inviting applications from the open market or by way of promotion from lower grades which are called feeder grades. The recruitment is strictly governed and guided by Recruitment Rules framed by the Government under Article 309 of the Constitution under the advice from the Commission. In case of direct recruitment the Commission publishes advertisement, notifies the number of vacancies with requirements of essential qualifications and experience as per the Recruitment Rules.  The reservation in favour of various categories like SC, ST, OBC, PH or CFF etc., are indicated as also the age limit. Only the candidates fulfilling all the essential requirements of the Recruitment Rules are considered to be eligible. Knowledge of Konkani is an essential qualification for direct recruitment in the State of Goa. Depending upon the number of candidates found eligible the candidates are short-listed by various methods viz. written tests and/or skill test and/or physical test and/or screening test and/or group discussions followed by an interview or only by an interview.  During interview the academic record of the candidates is taken into consideration.

ELGIBILITY :

Eligibility of Posts varies according to the designation.  Below we have provides a list of some posts along with their eligibility.

Directorate of Health Services :  Candidates should possess a recognized Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than Licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule.

 Assistant Public Prosecutor : A qualification included in Part I or Part II of the Schedule to the Dentists Act, 1948 (16 of 1948) and Post-Graduate qualification in Dentistry i.e. Master of Dental Surgery in concerned speciality/subject from a recognized institution or equivalent and Should be registered with Dental Council.

Assistant Agriculture Officer : Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture from a recognised University and Knowledge of Konkani.

Junior Assistant : Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification from a recognised Institution and Should be Computer literate.

Stenographer : Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification from a recognised Institution and Speed of 100 words per minute in shorthand and 35 words per minute in typewriting.

Associate Professor in Anatomy :  Medical qualification with Post Graduate Degree qualification in speciality concerned or equivalent.

Mamlatdar/ Jt. Mamlatdar/ Assistant Director of Civil Supplies :  Law Graduate or equivalent.

AGE LIMIT :

The Age limit varies acoording to the Post.  The minimum age limit to apply for GOA PSC Jobs is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 45 years.  Age Relaxation is given to SC/ST Candidates as per norms decided by the Commission.

SALARY STRUCTURE :

The Salary given to the candidates depend on the Designation of Post. Below we have given a list of some posts alongwith their salary details.

Associate Professor in Anatomy : Rs. 15600-39100/- with Grade pay Rs. 6600/

Mamlatdar/ Jt. Mamlatdar/ Assistant Director of Civil Supplies : Rs. 9300-34800/- with Grade pay Rs. 4600/-

Junior Assistant : Rs.5200-20200/ with Grade Pay  Rs.1900/-

Stenographer :  Rs.5200-20200/- with Grade Pay  Rs.2400/-

Assistant Public Prosecutor :  Rs.15600-39100/- with Grade Pay  Rs.5400/-

  •  Then Enter your Detail, for example, Registration number and DOB and afterward Submit it.

LATEST RESULTS :

The latest result of Goa Public Service Commission exam can be checked from the official site. The Commission also gives tenders to various other private organization to conduct the exam in proper manner.  Candidates can search their results in various websites also which can be easily searched through internet.

EXAM ANALYSIS/REVIEW :-

Every year lacs of Candidates appears in the written examination conducted by the Goa PSC for the recruitment process. The exam is conducted at various centres across the state.  The Commission conducts Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personal Interview for the Recruitment process.  Only those candidates who are declared to have qualified in the Preliminary Examination are declared to be eligible for admission to the Main Examination for that year.  The Main Examination comprises of written examination and personal interview.  The writtten exam consists of four compulsary papers (General English, General Essay, General Studies I, General Studies II) carrying 100 marks each and two optional subjects of two papers of 100 marks each.  Personal Interview also carry 100 marks.

ANSWER KEY :

After the successful completion of the written exam the commission releases the Answer key officially in its website so that the candidates can cross check their answer and predicts their scores in the exam.  Candidates can download these Answer keys directly from the main site of Goa PSC.

CUTOFF :

Cutoff of Goa PSC exam will be evaluated on many factors some of factors are mentioned Below :

  1. Number of Candidate appeared for the Goa PSC exam.
  2. No of candidates passed the exam.
  3. Difficulty level of question paper.
  4. No. Of vacancy for this exam.
  5. Cutoff may also be sectional wise

MERIT LIST :

The merit list is prepared on the basis of evaluation of Candidates’ performance in Preliminary Examination and the Main Examination.  Candidates who qualifies both the Examination is eligible for the interview.  Merit list contains the Roll numbers and names of those candidates who are selected for the Interview process of selection.  The merit list is also uploaded in the official site after disclosure.

SCORE CARD :

Score Card is the Final result which is announced by the Commission after the Interview process.  Those who qualifies the Interview process are selected for the jobs.  The candidates can check their Score card from the official site of Goa PSC by entering their roll numbers and date of birth.
