Gujarat police Current recruitment notification 2017


The Gujarat Police is the law enforcement agency for the state of Gujarat in India.   It came into existence after Gujarat’s separation from the Greater Mumbai state on 1 May 1960.  The Gujarat Police has its headquarters in Gandhinagar, the state capital.  It is headed by Director General of Police (DGP).    There are seven ranges in the Gujarat Police: Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Rajkot, Junagadh, Surat and Border Range. For police administration the state is further divided into 26 police districts and Western Railway Police.

Gujarat Police has some branches for special tasks such as Crime, anti-terrorist squad (ATS) and the Intelligence wing. The Gujarat Police was the first state police to crack the serial bomb blast mystery during 2007-08 in many Indian cities including 2008 Ahmedabad bombings.   Every year Gujarat Police Recruitment board  releases Recruitment Notification to fill several job vacancies in their department.   This year (2016) also there will be several job openings in Gujarat police.  Candidates must have completed their Graduation degree for the posts of Inspector and for the post of constable the Candidates must be  12th Passed from a Recognized Board.

Eligibility Criteria  :-

Citizenship  :  Candidate should be a citizen of Gujarat only.

Education Qualification  :

  • Sub Inspector candidate should have complete Bachelor Degree from a Recognized University.
  • For Constable posts candidates should have passed in 12th/ HSC or equivalent from a Recognized Board and should have computer knowledge.

Age limit :

  • PSI                        :   20 yrs to 30 yrs.
  • ASI                        :  18 yrs to 28 yrs.
  • SI                           :  18 yrs to 25 yrs.
  • HomeGuard         :  18 yrs to 50 yrs.
  • Constable              :  for men  –   18 yrs  to 25 yrs  &  for women maximum age limit is  22 yrs.
  • Head Constable    :  for men the age limit  is  18 yrs. To 25 yrs  and   for women the age limit is 22 yrs To 25 yrs.

Application Fee  :   General and OBC category candidates need to pay application form fee is Rs. 112/-. Other category candidates only need to pay Bank Charge (Rs. 20/-).

Selection Process for the post of Home Guard  :  Candidates can be recruited as home guards on the basis of merit tests, medical and skill test. The various documents needed at the time of selection are as follows :

  • 1 recent pass port size photo

 

Physical Ability Test :-

Height (For PSI & Head Constables)  –   men  : 168 cm,    women: 155 cm

Chest –  for men only  81 cms unexpanded.

Height (for Constables)  –   

  • for  men : 165 cms ( gen/ obc )  ; for sc/st : 160 cm
  • for women : 155 cms for general & for st candidates 150 cm.

Chest  : 

  • male (general/obc) : 80 cm    for sc/ st : 76.2
  • female (general/obc) : 85 cm   for sc/st : 81.5

Note  :  For men & women both- various parameters comprises of long jump, running, short put etc.
