Vijaya Bank is a medium-sized public sector bank with their branches all over India. It is one of the nationalised banks in India. Vijaya Bank was established in Mangalore on 23rd of October,1931. It was founded by Shri. Attavar Balakrishna Shetty. Since it was established on Vijayadashmi, it was named “Vijaya Bank”. There prime objective is to promote Banking habits,saving habits,thrift and entrepreneurship among the farming community in the district of Karnataka. Vijaya Bank became a scehduled bank in 1958. The bank was finally nationalized on 15th of April,1980. The bank has been steadily growing by merging nine other smaller branches between 1963-68. Currently Vijaya Bank employs 13,700 in the bank. They have recently  recruited young workforce to cope up with the changing banking scenario & to compete with the growing private sector & foreign banks functioning in the country. The bank has build a network of around f 1630 branches, 27 Regional Offices, 42 Extension Counters and 1568 ATM’s as of 31-April-2015, that span all 28 states and 4 union territories in the country.All there branches are CBS( core banking solutions) covering over 100% of the Bank’s business.

ELGIBBILITY CRITERIA(QUALIFICATION)

FOR PROBATIONARY OFFICER(P.O): Candidates who are applying for P.O must a graduation degree or equivalent qualification from recognized university/board.

FOR CLERK:Candidates must possess a Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

 FOR MANAGER:  Candidates should have a  Degree from a recognized University. Candidates with 5 years commissioned service in the Army/Navy/ Air-force or a Police Officer not below the rank of Asst. Superintendent of Police / Dy. Superintendent of Police with 5 years of service / offcer of identical rank in Paramilitary forces with 5 Years’ Service.

AGE LIMIT

FOR CLERK: Candidates applying for the post of clerk must be between the age of 21 to 28 years of age and not be exceeding more than that.

FOR P.O :Minimum age should be 20 years and maximum age is of 30 years. Age is relax-able for the reserved candidates as per the rules.

FOR MANAGER:Candidates who are applying for the post of manager must be between the age of 22 to 45 years of age.

SALARY STRUCTURE

FOR CHIEF MANAGER:Salary given to chief manager in Vijaya bank is very attractive and they are paid paid the basic pay ranging between Rs. 4.5 Lakh – Rs. 7.30 Lakh yearly. Chief Manager is also entitled to allowances and perks.

FOR ASSISTANT MANAGER: Salary paid to assistant manager is between Rs. 2.52 Lakh – Rs. 4.2 Lakh with an annual average of 3.36 Lakh.
